Is Leadership Coaching Right for You? A Guide for Every Kind of Leader
What leadership coaching is, how somatic coaching differs, and why “leader” includes far more people than you might think.

If you clicked on this post, some part of you is already asking a leadership question. Maybe you're leading a team through change, carrying the weight of an executive role, or leading yourself through a hard transition. Wherever you're starting from, this post is for you.
What leadership coaching actually is
Leadership coaching is a dedicated, structured partnership that helps you grow, not by handing you advice, but by helping you access the clarity and self-knowledge you already carry. It's different from mentorship (senior advice, often pay-it-forward), therapy (healing the past, sometimes involving diagnoses), and consulting (specific strategies, road maps, and research, which I also offer). Coaching helps you identify and realize your goals through self-awareness, removing roadblocks, and creating clear action plans.
A brief word on somatic coaching
Somatic simply means "of the body." Your nervous system knows you're overextended before your calendar admits it. Most reactive patterns, like overworking, people-pleasing, and shutting down in conflict, live in the body as much as the mind. Somatic coaching brings in breathwork, grounding, movement, and nervous-system awareness so change becomes something your whole self can live out.
Think of the old building in the photo. The lower windows are clear and well-lit, like traditional coaching. Somatic coaching is like the stained glass upstairs: the same room, the same light, but seen through color and texture you didn't know existed.
Now, about that word "leader"
I do work with senior and executive leaders, and I bring decades of leadership experience to that work. But I think about leadership expansively. I also mean: - Emerging leaders stepping into leadership for the first time - People who lead in ways they haven't fully claimed yet - People with a conflicted relationship to the word "leader" - Burnt-out leaders who've lost the thread of why it mattered - People leading themselves through a divorce, diagnosis, move, or loss - Parents and caregivers, whose daily work asks for presence, regulation, and decision-making under uncertainty
If you're shaping outcomes for yourself or others, or standing at the edge of becoming someone new, you're doing leadership work.
My mission, in plain language
My work supports leaders in bringing more somatic awareness, creativity, play, and mindfulness into their lives, so they can lead from authentic connection and alignment rather than burnout and disconnection.
A note on identity and context
Who you are and the systems you move through shape what leadership feels like. I honor those intersecting identities and bring a justice-oriented lens to my work, and this work is for anyone ready to do it.
